Membership with Harbor Anglican

On October 6, we held our first Harbor Anglican Foundations class for all who are pursuing membership. Church membership is a great joy and a weighty responsibility.

Our hope for this class was that you would engage with the stories of God’s faithfulness to His people—and specifically to these people—in order that you might taste and see the weight of joy that you are considering entering into with us.

If you were not able to attend the class but are interested in membership, we highly encourage you to listen to this class online as it is a prerequisite to joining. You can listen to it on our website here or directly on Spotify here.

Class Structure

The class was divided into two main parts:

  1. Anglican History, Theology & Ecclesiology and how this connects with Harbor

  2. Harbor Anglican’s Vision and Values. Our hope with this class was that it would be helpful in learning where we came from, who we are, and where we are going, providing a very honest picture —faults, failures, joys, and all.

Next Steps

If you would like to become a member in time for our annual congregational meeting, please consider taking the following next steps as soon as possible:

  • Please fill out a connect card so we can have your information on file.

  • Please indicate to our rector that you intend to join the church (email Fr. Casey)

  • Our rector will establish a time to hear your story and answer any questions you may have. This interview must take place before the new member joining service on November 3.

  • Joining Sunday will take during the worship service on November 3, which is just prior to our annual congregational meeting. All new members will come forward before the congregation and take vows, and the congregation will make their vow to you.

  • Lastly, a vital part of membership is being known by others, serving others, and giving back a measure of what God has given you. We invite you to intentionally explore a Harbor Group, ways you can serve, and to establish a regular rhythm of giving.
